In December 1998, the four partners Horst Briel, Manfred Klein, Ralf Muth and Friedrich Koch founded KBM GmbH, a machine and electrical engineering company based in Allendorf/Eder (Germany). Manufacturing started in January of 1999. In the year 2000, KBM acquired the Machine Engineering Division of insolvent company Johannsen in nearby town Battenberg. Nowadays, the company specialises on sanding machines for wood processing and brushing machines for metal processing. Since 2001, focus has been on manufacturing of sanding and brushing machines and, in addition, of brushing, polishing and foil coating machines for processing and sealing single rolled sheets.
